Valve has requested Classic Offensive not be released. For those who don’t know, Classic Offensive is a more classic CS experience based on CSGO assets. It was initially slated for release (for free) and greenlit on Steam. The problem then became Valve ghosting the developers when they asked questions about licensing and eventually releasing the game. But then VERY recently, Valve asked them to shut it down. It’s a very Nintendo move if I’ve ever seen one. It’s a perceived threat to their digital hegemony in CSGO / CS2 because it’s Counter Strike without all of the lootboxes.

Clair Obscur has been a HUGE hit, making waves for western developed JRPGs and one of the highest rated games of the year, both reviewers and user scores. One other game that came out and potentially broke the record for the most writing/dialogue in a JRPG is The Hundred Line. Both JRPG devs have propped each other up and recommended each other after finishing one. A rare positive story in gaming.

If you recall, quite a few months ago the FTC has banned the sales of Genshin Impact lootboxes to kids under 16. This is the result of it, and US players must now verify players’ ages with verification processes rolling out on May 20th. It is currently unknown what this age verification process entails. Failure to comply by July 18, 2025 WILL result in account suspension and friend list/chat history deletion, with no further notice once you’re suspended due to legal issues. Failure to comply by July 20, 2026 will result in total account deletion, which also includes your other HoyoVerse games too. Genshin Impact is rated T for Teen (13+) in the US.

The Japanese Game Preservation Society is an organization focused on the preservation of older titles from Japan. Including physical media like floppy disks, etc. They are seemingly on the verge of bankruptcy and supposedly barely have enough to pay rent.
